The Hackers have used the leaked NSA tools to infect computers with "WannaCry" Ransomware. Now, the malicious software Wannacry is being used to carry out one of the biggest ransomware attacks ever.
More countries have been hit with this attack that locksup computers and hold user's files for ransom. Also many companies,hospitals and individual persons have become a target of this attack.
Avast has recorded more than 75,000 detections of Wannacry in 99 countries.
By this attack, National Health Service organizations in the UK have been targeted. The patient test records have been stolen it makes very critical situation in NHS.Spanish Telefónica has also been hit.
The ransom being demanded is $300 worth of bitcoins. The ransom also has instructions on how to pay ransom and timer to pay the ransom.
While the ransomware attack is mainly targeted to Russia,Taiwan, and Ukrain,the attack show its impact all around the world.
Most probably, the attack has spread using phishing emails with malicious attachments that infect computers when users click on them.
